Jesse W. “Woody” Porter, Jr., 76, of Owensboro, died peacefully at his home Monday, Feb. 6, 2017. He was born March 31, 1940 in Evansville, IN to the late Jesse Woodrow Porter, Sr. and Pearl Teresa Johnson Porter. He was a retired postal worker and enjoyed his life to the fullest as long as he was physically able. He enjoyed riding his bicycle many miles before becoming ill. He was an avid UK basketball fan. He loved entertaining his children and grandchildren on his boat and at his home. He was a dedicated reader and always willing to help people. He also is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Porter and a sister, Linda Raley.
Services will be 11 am Thursday at Immaculate. Inurnment will be 11 am Friday at Resurrection Cemetery.
