Richard Theodore Lord, 80, of 20881 State Hwy. 198, Saegertown, formerly of 455 Chestnut St., Meadville, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Vincent Health System, Erie. Richard was born November 16, 1936, to Charles Parker Lord and Audrey Hoy Lord, at the Meadville Hospital. Richard graduated from North East High School.

On January 14, 1955 he entered the US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Guam with the Supreme Air Command. He was honorably discharged on November 14, 1958. One of the many skills Richard learned during his term in Guam, was to scuba dive. In his later years, Richard enjoyed recalling his many swims "with the sharks" in the crystal blue waters of the Philippine Sea.

When his time of military service was complete, Richard explored our own fair nation, eventually returned to Meadville to enter the Tool and Die trade; employed for many years with Leech Tool and Die, the former Talon Inc. and Faiver Tool and Die.

Richard lived life to fullest. He enjoyed much travel, photography, cooking classes, was a "Master" gardener with Penn State and even took magic classes to entertain his children as well as many, many other people in his charmed life.
On August 25, 1965, Richard married Patricia Alma Jewell who preceded him in death on May 6, 2004.

He is survived by his loving family of three children; Kevin Ann Smith and her husband John of Saint Helena Island, SC; Kenneth Richard Lord and his wife Valerie of Meadville and Thomas Parker Lord and his wife Phyllis also of Meadville; five grandchildren Adam Matthew Smith and his wife Katie of Pittsburgh, Joseph Michael Smith and his wife Carley, currently stationed abroad with the United States Army; Joshua David Lord, Benjamin Aaron Lord and Parker Clifton Lord all of Meadville, two great grandchildren, twins Asher and Ella Smith.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Patricia of 38 years, Richard was preceded in death by a sister Virginia "Ginger" Lord VanRiper Sutter.

Richard will be laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Twp.
