Anita Stephens, 57, passed away after her battle with colon cancer, in her home, surrounded by family on February 5, 2017, at 9:23 a.m. Anita was a loving, nurturing mother and wife, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had a wonderful smile and a warm, comforting personality which enabled her success as a pharmacy technician for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing and laughing with her grandchildren, garage selling, cooking, baking, and visiting with friends and family. When diagnosed with a rare form of colon cancer in 2015, Anita responded with positivity and an unbreakable resolve to fight and win. She fought one month longer than anyone on record to date. She now joins her mother and father, Hazel and John McIlvaine; two sisters, Sandy Anderson and Janice Keller; and her brother, James Spoon, in the splendors of Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David Stephens; daughter, Heather Egnor and husband, Scott; son Matthew Stephens; three granddaughters, Cydney Egnor, Olivia Stephens, and Meredith Egnor; sisters, Twyla Spoon, Marilynn Spoon, Judy Bryant and husband, Rick, Neva Stipp, Kay Shepheard and husband, Danny, and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Anita's death is not the end of her story, but rather the turning of a page in a new chapter in which we are not yet written.
