Reverend Byrom E. Dupree, 81, of 1159 West Point Lake Drive, West Point, Ga., died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, at Pine Lake Chapel, with burial at 3:30 pm at Concord Methodist Cemetery, Concord, Ga. according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00-9:00 p. m. this evening.

Rev. Dupree was born Nov. 23, 1916 in Sumter Co., Ga., son of Edward W. Dupree and Eula Jordan Dupree. He had worked as a sales Manager for Wells Dairy with 26 years service, and as night coordinatior at Columbus Tech with 12 years service. He had long been a member of the Lions Club, Gideons, a former deacon of Gentian Baptist Church (Columbus), and a Navy veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife, Mary Kennette Dupree of West Point; one son, Dr. James Edward Dupree of Rome, NY; one brother, Glenn S. Dupree of Burlington, MA; one sister, Winfred Reese of Macon, GA, two grandsons, David Edward Dupree of Half Moon Bay, CA, and Mark Kyle Dupree of Columbus.
