Mary Walker Arnold was the daughter of William Calvin and Nancy Bolton Walker. She married Confederate soldier, Henry Summerfield Arnold, in Brazos County in November of 1865, near the end of the Civil War.

She and Henry lived most of their life in Coryell or nearby Lampasas counties where Henry's occupation was farmer and physician. They had at least six sons: Edwin, Jasper, George, Joseph, Robert, and Harry.

According to research done by Jolene Haney, all of their sons are listed as sick or bedridden. Jasper is paralyzed, but grows up to became a lawyer. Another son, Robert became a drug store owner in Gatesville. Another son, Harry, became a drug store owner in Carter, Oklahoma. Not much was found about Edward, George, and Joseph. None of the Arnold boys lived to be very old; they had a rare disease that affected their skeleton and joints, making movement difficult or impossible, according to some of their death certificates.

Mary's burial in this cemetery is based on the fact that her husband is buried here and her death place in Copperas Cove. No stone is evident.
