David Anton Lipton, 87, of Warren, died January 21, 2001, at England.

Born December 8, 1913, at Greenwood, Mississippi, he was a son of the late Matt and Veronika Cop Lipton.

He was a representative for International Harvester before making his home at Warren as a Gulf Oil Company distributor. He was also a tree farmer and cattle rancher.

He served in the Army, was a Mason and a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Payne Lipton, on July 8, 1995; and a son, John Payne Lipton.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Lee Lipton of Warren; a daughter, Jane Lipton-Wesson of England; two sisters, Gladys Lipton Scarcello of Malvern and Mary Helen Lipton of Warren; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in Oakland Cemetery at Warren with Monsignor John O'Donnell officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.

The family will receive visitors at the home at Warren.
