Joseph Bledsoe provided assistance to the Revolution. His service is entered through the state of Virginia. Listed as a large landholder in Kentucky, he was a minister, moving to Kentucky with the Millers and he helped establish the "Traveling Church." He is named in his father's will (Capt. William Bledsoe)as having been provided for other than through an inheritance, and received one shilling. The Daughters of the American Revolution lists his place of death as Rock Creek Bottom, Kentucky. He is said to have been buried in one of the orchards on his farm which was left to his son, Elijah Bledsoe, in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
