A native of Detroit, he was born April 25, 1948, the son of the late James David and Ruth Catherine Dunn Lassiter. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Philip was a salesman for appliances and electronics at Montgomery Ward. He was a member of Liberty Christian.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Ellen Lassiter, Hopkinsville; his son, Josh Lassiter and his wife, Melissa, Hopkinsville; his daughter, Lindsey (Josh) Jones, Hopkinsville; his sister, Pam (Tim) Murphy, Hopkinsville; and three grandchildren.
