Wilma was born Oct. 14 1918 in Rayville, the daughter of Hiram C. and Verlinda Susan (Jones) Crowley. She married Arthur D. Riley of Kansas City, Mo. Jan. 11, 1957; he preceded her in death July 21, 1973.
Wilma was a supervisor at Sears and Roebuck in Kansas City for 25 years before retiring in 1957. She attended the Rayville School District and was a graduate of East High School in Kansas City. Wilma was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church.
After her husband, "Dude's" death in 1973, she moved back to the family farm in Rayville from Raytown. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and the companionship of friends and family. All of her family was loved by "Big Auntie."
Survivors include: sister-in-law, Ann Crowley, Excelsior Springs; niece, Sue Alexander and her husband, Gene, Rayville; three great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elza Crowley and Robert Crowley; one sister, Reba Stanley; and one niece, Doris Adams.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian Union Church.
Visitation will be 6-8pm, Sunday, March 14, at Rayville Christian Union Church. Funeral services will be at 10:30am, Monday, March 15, at the church. Burial will be in Old New Garden, Excelsior Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
