Specialist Four Jesse James Dixon was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, SP4 Dixon served our country until March 3rd, 1967 in Log An, South Vietnam. He was 22 years old and was married. It was reported that Jesse died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. SP4 Dixon is on panel 16E, line 007 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.

He is the Husband of Mrs Carolyn Dixon, Rocky Mount, 716 Myrtle Avenue, North Carolina, 27801. Son of Mr Willie Battle, 735 West Thomas Street, Rocky Mount, 27801 and Mrs Anna Dixon, 721 Congress Street, S.E., Washington D.C. 20032. He also left behind One Daughter and One Son.

He served with Echo Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 199th Infantry Brigade, USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device for Valor, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
