Wakarusa-Elizabeth M. “Betty” Jennings, 90, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.
Betty was born on October 14, 1926 in Mishawaka to William and Matilda (Kline) Bokhart. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Jennings and two brothers, Ernie and William Bokhart.
On July 20, 1946 in St. Bavo Catholic Church, as the former Betty Bokhart, she married Gilbert T. Jennings. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2015. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Connie (Jim) DeClark of Osceola and Judy (Greg) Van De Putte of Sachse, TX; son, Jeff (Heidi) Jennings of Westfield, IN; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sisters, Augusta Gilman, Mary Ann Sheibelhut and Christine Berry.
Betty worked for 13 years as a Custodian for Penn Harris Madison School Corp. She loved her family and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
In lieu of flowers, Betty’s wishes were for memorial contributions be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
