She was the wife of Dexter Howard, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Darrel (Charlotte) Howard, Gerold Howard, and Greg (Mandee) Howard all of Salyersville, Kentucky, two daughters, Toylia Howard of Lucasville, Ohio, and Deborah (Greg) Wedding of Lexington, Kentucky, daughter-in-law, Glenda Jarrel, two brothers, Mark Lykins of Lucasville, Ohio and Robert Lykins of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, two sisters, Beatrice Howard of Ezel, Kentucky and Edith McGuire of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and sister-in-law, Judy Staniford. Twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survive.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mabel is preceded in death by two sons, Harold Dean Howard and Larry Joseph Howard, one brother, Charles Lykins, four sisters, Gertie Tackett, Faye Tackett, Jessie Mae Howard, and Pauline Howard, and one son-in-law, Larry Ray Howard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday, February 10, 2017 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Howard Family Cemetery at Bloomington, Kentucky.
