Erika E. (Webel) Smith, 97, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Normandie Ridge Nursing Home. She was the widow of Anes Wilson Smith.
She was born March 28, 1919 in Berberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany to the late Otto and Elsa (Weber) Webel.
Erika came to the United States with two little children and the loss of her family and all of her sorrows. She was proud to be a U.S. citizen, had a great sense of humor, and touched the lives of many people and they grew to love her. Erika retired from the Pennsylvania State Police as a telecommunications clerk.
Surviving are daughter, Mary-Ann Johnston (Lester) of Camp Hill; son, Tom Szymczak (Rise) of Houston, TX; granddaughters, Tracy of Houston, TX, Tammy and Amy (Manuel) both of York; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Rest in peace mom- you will be truly missed by your family.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
