Carol J. Rowland, 82, of Pontiac, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:38 a.m. at Pontiac Healthcare and Rehab in Pontiac.

Her service will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will follow at Sunbury Township Cemetery in rural Blackstone, IL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Pontiac.

Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

Carol was born May 27, 1934 in Blackstone, IL to John and Carolina (Knudson) Farero. She married William Hollinger on May 28, 1955. He passed away October 22, 1984. She later married Dallas Rowland in 1986. He passed away in 2012.

She is survived by her children, Rodney (Debi) Hollinger of Pontiac, IL, Deb Hollinger of Pontiac, IL, and Lynn (Tracy Tormaschy) Hollinger of Aurora, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William and Dallas; brothers, Eugene Farero, Jack Farero, and Bernerd Farero; sisters, Lodean Swanberg, Bernadine Johnson, and Betty Lambrich; and one son, Dale Hollinger.

Carol was a graduate of Cornell Grade School and Cornell High School. She was the Owner/Operator of the Old Log Cabin restaurant in Pontiac from 1973 – 1987. She was Catholic in faith.

It was Carol’s wish for everyone attending her services to please dress casually or in western attire.

Memorials may be made to Pontiac Healthcare and Rehab and OSF Hospice.
