David A. Ames, 71, passed away February 1, 2017, at his residence. David was born December 16, 1945, in Evansville, Ind., to the late Malcolm E. and Patricia Ann Ames. David was a Vietnam veteran and served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army. David had retired from Windsor Plastics after 32 years of service. He was an animal lover and enjoyed genealogy. David loved going to Pow Wows and collecting military memorabilia.
David is preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Ames; and son, Kevin Ames. He is survived by his wife, Amy Collins, of Evansville, Ind.; daughter, Kristy May (John) of Evansville, Ind.; siblings, Eddie Ames, Barb Walters (Ed), Terry Ames (Janice), Donna Sue Hayden (Jeff); his military memorabilia collecting buddy, Don Mann (Edna); dog, Daisy.
Services for David will be at noon on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1800 St. George Road, Evansville, Ind., with the Reverend Fr. Ted Temple officiating and American Legion Kapperman Post #44 presenting military honors. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
