On January 24, 1953, Liz married her high school sweetheart, Dale B. Wheat in the Storm Lake Church of Christ where she was a member. To this union a daughter, Lori Arlyne, was born on January 28, 1957. Liz and Dale spent 61 married years together before Dale’s passing on February 2, 2014.
Liz was a homemaker and devoted mother and wife. She was active in her church as a deaconess, in funeral and flower committees, and also sang in the choir. She enjoyed staying in touch with her high school classmates and attended all of their high school reunions. Certain times of the year she helped out a BV Stationary with their print projects and collating while working private parties at The Harbor House for Doris Lawrence. Loving and caring for her two little Japanese Chin dogs was a passion for her. Liz was a collector of many different things, loved to shop, and spend as much time as she could with her daughter.
She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Those Liz leaves to celebrate her life include her daughter, Lori (John) and their daughter, Julian of Blair, Nebraska; sister, Charlotte Goff of LaSalle, Illinois; brother, Don (Patricia) Hughes of Le Mars, Iowa; as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law; husband, Dale; two brothers: Dick and Dean Hughes; sister-in-law, Gayle Sundberg; brothers-in-law, Dean Goff and Eldon Sundberg.
