BILLY DALE BLAKE
February 6, 1950 - January 31, 2017

Billy Dale Blake, 66, was born in Weston, West Virginia on February 6, 1950 to James "Frank" Blake and Mildred (Mealey) Blake. He entered into eternal life on January 31, 2017. He was the eldest of three children. He attended school in Walkersville, West Virginia. After high school he served in Vietnam for several years in the U.S. Air Force. While in the service, he married Paula Schmid. After his service, they lived in the Bolivar area. No children were born of this marriage. Bill worked for Wommack Monument, Greyhound Bus, Marsh Travel and Crete Carrier Corporation. When he drove for Greyhound Bus, he met Christine Rose and they married in June, 1982 in Springfield, MO. They had been married for 35 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim.

Bill is survived by his wife, Christine of the home; his brother, Roger; and 2 brothers-in-law, Rick & Mike Hoppe of St. Louis; and a host of friends.

Bill loved the country, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, pets and country music. He was not shy and loved to visit with and help people. He was a regular at the Country Corner Café with the Liars Club! He never knew a stranger but relished in meeting new people. He also enjoyed playing card games with the folks at the Korth Senior Center. Bill was a loving, caring, and patient husband. He never forgot a birthday, holiday, anniversary, or any occasion. He was an excellent cook which he enjoyed doing. Bill had a great sense of humor. he was very talkative. He also never let people take advantage of him. He endured severe pain after an injury to his left ankle 3 years ago but rarely complained. he was unable to continue truck driving or some of the sports he loved but he did not sit still. He continued to enjoy his family, friends and pets. He was president of the Stockton Saddle Club.

He will be terribly missed by his wife, friends and animals!

Funeral will be Monday, February 6 at Bland-Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton, MO. Visitation at 1:00 p.m., services at 2:00 p.m. Burial in the Stockton City Cemetery.
