Opal Margaret Lee, 94, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Liberty, Texas at Liberty Health Care. Opal was born September 30, 1922 in Baytown, Texas the daughter of the late Connie Bryce Edmonds and Cora Walston Edmonds. Opal was a homemaker, raised in South Liberty Oilfield and was a tremendous cook. Opal cooked and baked up to the age of 93, still making her biscuits from scratch. As a young woman she helped her father by going hunting and fishing. Opal will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Frank Lee, daughter Gladys Ann Halpaine, her sons, Charles Leo Stokes and Lester Carl Leggett, grandson, Frank Ray Leggett and her brothers, Alvin Odell Edmonds, Elton Carl Edmonds and Roy Lee Edmonds. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son James Connie Stokes, daughter Patricia Carol Mosier and a brother Clarence Elwood Edmonds, her caregiver and nephew Bobby Smalley. In addition, she leaves 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
