He was born Oct. 23, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, son of Tom and Gerri Welter Mize. He and Connie Loos were married Nov. 13, 1984, in Jackson.
Paul was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1980 until being honorably discharged in 1982. He worked for Charter Communications for several years as a service technician and most recently for NX Utilities as a project supervisor.
Loving survivors include his wife of 32 years, Connie Mize; a daughter, Charissa (Kyle) Griggs; a son, Ryan Mize; a granddaughter; his mother- and father-in-law, Eleanor and Norman Loos, all of Jackson; a sister, Cathy (Bob) Dietl of Cape Girardeau; and three brothers, David (Maxine) Mize of Pocahontas, Tom Mize of Georgia and Rick Mize of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Mize and Gerri Lawson; a brother-in-law, Gerald Loos; and his stepfather, James Lawson.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with parish prayers at 7 p.m., followed by the rosary.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with graveside military honors.
