Joseph A. Sloan, 90, passed away February 16, 2010. Survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Mae Sloan; daughter, Linda (Mike) Roofe; sisters, Lucille Arthurs and Shirley (Gerald) Mathews; grandchildren, Branden (Jolynn) Miller, Scott (Amanda) Miller, Margaret (Jerry) Tvault and Robert (Lacy) Miller; and 14 great-grandchildren. Joe was born December 23, 1919, in Oskaloosa Mo., to Leroy and Pearl Sloan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from C&W Railroad as a yardmaster. Joe loved camping, traveling and recreational vehicle riding. Member of Central Christian Church, BPO Elks #90, NARVE and VFW. There will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at Central Christian Church, 1902 N. Hudson Ave., with the Rev. Dr. Dave Chambers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice through Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors, 1317 N. Main St., Pueblo, CO 81003.
