Glenda Faye Parker departed this life, January 19, 2017 at Montefiore Hospital, Bronx NY. She was born in Clinton, NC on September 29, 1960 to the late Winzle and Clearo Mae Brunson-Parker.

She attended Newburgh Free Academy were she participated in ROTC (Reserved Office Training Corp). After graduating from NFA, just like her father, brother, Vermont and nephew, James, Glenda worked at West Point Military Academy, were she retired in 2005; from there she received her Nursing Certification from Lady Cliff College, she later went onto to receive her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.

Glenda was a fun loving free spirit person. She would help any one that needed her help. She loved playing cards and having a good time with family and friends. She was always the life of the party.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her two children, Jerome A. Parker and LaTasha L. Obey, both of Newburgh, NY; one grandson, Anthony O'Garra III; two sisters, Mary E. Patrick of Clinton, NC, and Catherleen Smith (Wendell) of Newburgh, NY; three brothers, Velmor Parker of Clinton, NC, Carl E. Parker of Houston, TX, and Toney Parker (Cynthia) of Brandywine, MD; one aunt, Evelyn Boykin of Clinton, NC; and one uncle, Richard Boone of West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Lottie Marie Parker; her adopted sister, Delbra Lane; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Ethel Gray Parker and Hilda Burnett; four brothers, Bobby Gene Parker, Vermont Parker, George Parker, and Floyd Parker.

A Gathering will be 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Mullins Courtyard Community Center, 34 Mullin Lane, Newburgh, NY.
