PFC Albert Lee Davis, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Biscoe, North Carolina.

Private First Class Albert Lee Davis was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, PFC Davis served our country until October 20th, 1969 in Quang Duc, South Vietnam. He was 26 years old and was married. It was reported thath Albert died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. PFC Davis is on panel 17W, line 095 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

Memories: Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. He was the oldest of seven children. Five brothers and one sister. He was the only one in the service. Albert and his brother loved to fish. Just before Albert went to Nam they caught and cooked their fish right on the shore. Barney, his Brother.

He is the Son of Mr David Aster and Mrs Lois Gillis Davis, Route 1, Star NC. He is the Husband of Mrs Cusandra D Davis, Biscoe, NC. Brother to Danny, Gary, Ruby, Von, Barney and Richard.

He served with Alpha Company, 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division,(AMBL), USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Silver Star Medal for Gallantry in Action, The Bronze Star Medal for Bravery, The Army Achievement Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, the Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
