EDWARDSBURG - Cynthia Lee Hayes, 67 years old of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Feb. 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, from an unexpected illness. She was born Dec. 31, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard W. and Elizabeth (Good) Wiggins and has lived in the Michiana area for several years.

She enjoyed her family and all of their gatherings, especially with her grandchildren. Her FAITH was very important to her. She loved living on her ‘mini' farm and she loved to watch the children close to her heart.

She was married May 17, 2000 in Mishawaka, to the love of her life, David J. Hayes and he survives with her children; Heather (Tim) Brewer of Dayton and Brett (Jennifer) White of Osceola, also her step-children; Jim White of Dayton, Megan Eslick of Dowagiac and Adam Hayes of Edwardsburg. There are eight grandchildren; Alex, Kyle, Austin, Aubrey, Kayla, Kameli, Keegan and Arabelle. There is one sister, Carolyn (Edward) Mosher of Beulah, WY and a brother, Bernard (Darlene) Wiggins of West Alexandria, OH. There also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family who have passed are her parents, a brother James Miller and two sisters, Pamela Alderman and Marilyn Coon.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 from 5-7 PM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St., Edwardsburg. There will be a Celebration of Life starting at 7:00 PM with Rev. Darin Gartin, pastor of Oak Creek Community Church, officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
