OBITUARY
Ole J. Moin, well known farmer of Rice Lake, Route 4, passed away at his home, Friday, July 21, after a few days illness, at the age of 78 years and one month.
He was born and raised on his father's farm, where he has since resided, attending the public school there and had been active in community affairs.
He was united in marriage to Miss Ida Pieper of Canton, who preceded him in death in 1911. To this union five children were born: Jasper and Reuben on the home farm, Arthur of Superior, Dorothy (Mrs. Guy Stearns), Rice Lake, Route 1, and John of Rice Lake, Route 4.
Mr. Moin was a kind father, and a great lover of nature and outdoor activities majoring in building log cabins in recent years.
Besides his children, he leaves to mourn his loss, 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Marie Ward and Miss Hilda Moin, of Canton.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Canton Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold A Alleson of Barron officiating.
Clifford Burton was in charge of arrangements.
The pallbearers were, his four sons; Guy Stearns, son-in-law; and Walter Alton, a nephew.
Vernon Holmen of Cameron was soloist.
Besides his children and families who attended the funeral services, from away were: F E. Ward of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ward of Superior; Mr. and Mrs. James Locke, Clear Lake: Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Winchester, Chippewa Falls; besides a number of friends from Rice Lake, Cameron, and Barron.

Ole Moin, a well-known farmer of Section 6, Sumner Township, was born on the place which he now operates, June 21, 1872, the son of John O. and Lena (Kyseth) Moin, early settlers. He was reared on the home farm, and attended the district schools. He learned farming from his father, and has always remained on the present farm, with the exception of four years when he farmed in Doyle Township, in this county. During that period he served Doyle Township as a member of the school board of his district. He now successfully carries on general farming, and makes a specialty of breeding good Jersey Cattle, and Belgian horses. He is a stockholder in the Farmers' Co-operative Store at Canton, and in the Farmers' Telephone Co. He stands well with all who know him, and is one of the township's solid men of worth. Mr. Moin married Ida Pieper, who was born in Sumner Township, the daughter of John Pieper. She died in 1911 at the age of thirty, leaving five children: Jasper, Reuben, Arthur, Dorothy and John.
