Nellie M. Robinson
Nellie M. Robinson, 68, of 612 S. 8th St., herrin, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 1983, at Franklin Skilled Care nursing Home in Benton, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Robinson had been employed at Allen Industries for 22 years. She retired in 1977. She attended the West Monroe Street Apostolic Church in Herrin.
She was born Feb. 1, 1915, in Blairsville, to Ben and Mamie Murphy George.
She was married Nov. 13, 1936, in Williamson County to Melburn "Slim" Robinson. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three brothers, Ben George Jr. and J. W. George, both of Carterville and Donald E. George of Joliet; and two sisters, Geneive Chamness of Carterville and Dorothy Talley of Flint, Mich.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
