Linda Louise Bland, 72, of Oxford, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, February 1, 2017 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas.
Born May 31, 1944 in Fairview, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of George and Lois (Kirkham) Parker. She was raised and received her early education in Fairview before her family moved to Wichita, Kansas. The family later moved to Winfield, Kansas where Linda graduated from Winfield High School in 1962.
Linda was united in marriage to Ralph Bland on December 1, 1961 at the Assembly of God Church in Winfield. The couple made their first home in Winfield before moving to Ranch near Sun City. They continued to ranch in southern Kansas for many years until settling in Oxford, Kansas in 1984. While in Oxford Linda began working at the Oxford Bank as a Teller. She later went to work for Union State Bank where she remained for over 20 years, retiring in 2012.
Linda was a member of GracePointe Assembly of God in Winfield. She enjoyed quilting, riding her motorcycle, going to Branson, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her family includes: Her husband: Ralph Bland of Oxford; Her son: Rusty Bland and wife, Brenda of Pueblo, CO; Her daughter: Renae Triboulet and husband, Cork of Howard; Her sisters: Geraldine Pickard and husband, Kenneth of Brookings, SD; Lori Robertson and husband, Greg of Carl Junction, MO; Her grandchildren: Clinton Bland and wife, Deidree of Midwest City, OK; Ryan Bland of Pueblo, CO; Brittany Bland of Pueblo, CO; Austin Triboulet of Norfolk, VA; Jordyn Triboulet of Derby; and Her great grandchildren: Brayden Whitaker and Treyson Triboulet.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Christina Ann Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 6, 2017 at GracePointe Assembly of God Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2017 from 2 to 6. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that afternoon.
Memorials have been established in Linda’s name for GracePointe Assembly of God Church, Harry Hynes Hospice, and for Larksfield Place Rehabilitation.
