Loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister
MARCY - Mrs. Sharon A. Jennings, 69, of Marcy, formerly of Utica, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, in New Hartford, with her loving family by her side.
Sharon was born in Utica on February 22, 1947, the daughter of John J., Sr. and Rhea (Gauthier) Buczek. She was raised and educated locally, and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On June 22, 1968, Sharon married Wayne T. Jennings at Sacred Heart Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 40 years, until Wayne's death in 2008. At one time, Sharon was employed with Commercial Travelers Insurance Company, and for over 20 years, with Yorkville Battery. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. Sharon enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, camping and was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica. Sharon's greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Mrs. Jennings is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Ken Williams, of Vernon; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Jennings, of Whitesboro, and Chad Jennings, of Marcy, and his girlfriend, Patty Foley; five cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Anthony, Delaney, Kerianna and Christopher; one brother, John "J" Buczek, of Marcy; four special nieces, Donna DeHart, Melissa Vallejho, Morgan Buczek and Kalie Buczek; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward and Janice Jennings, of Utica, William and Linda Jennings, of Vernon, Bonnie and Joe Morehead, of Rome, and Grace Jennings, of Utica; as well as several additional nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Hall; and sister, Fay Ann Schreck.
Mrs. Jennings' funeral will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 9:15 a.m., at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, and 10:00, at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills, where her Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
