A longtime resident of Lynn, Massachusetts, erudite John Allyn Heizer sadly passed away after an illness of a few months. He was 83 years of age, slim and towered at 6'5" of height. Devoted to his studies and writings, he never married and left no issue. He leaves two older sisters both living up east and their scattered families and many cousins.

A mathematician and veteran who served in the United States Army, John intensely studied religion and pursued family history during his retirement decades.

On Oct 25, 2016, he slipped and cracked his hip which led to an alternating cycle of hospital and rehab back and forth. Later swallowing problems and an intestinal infection arose, but prior to this he had been fortunate to enjoy strong health his entire life. Cremated, John's ashes await transportation to our family plot at Spring Grove Cemetery, so they rest up at Full Spychalski Funeral Home, Salem, Mass. A memorial service may be held in mid-March in Salem, Mass, but no services are expected to be held in Cincinnati.

A decade ago, 2006, after I drove up east, John took time to pull papers, help with pioneer research at the Wakefield, Mass public library, and take me out to the burial sites of our mutual earliest Poole immigrant ancestors [See plum group on top of YDNA matrix at Poole YDNA Project & Allied Families, ftdna lab] Cousin John had previously sent me his own research and findings from NEGHS, which spurred the search further to determine our Poole YDNA pattern. Without John's prodding, the quest to sort out the Poole lines may never have occurred--so heartfelt thanks must be conveyed to him in heaven!

John Allyn Heizer was the brother in law of Hugh Branham Williams, Find A Grave Memorial# 176391143.
