Rachel Turner, 77, of Bassett, died January 31, 2017 at her home. She was born in Bassett on August 3, 1939 to John Q. Prater and Nina Bryant Prater. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. “Doug” Turner; a sister, Ruth Brown and two brothers, Robert Prater and Billy Jack Prater. She was a member of the Bassett Church of God. She was a substitute teacher for Henry County Public Schools for thirty years.
She is survived by a son, Thomas D. Turner, II; several grandchildren; a sister, Martha Harmon.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
