Lorraine M. Moss, 100, of Adams formerly Burr, died at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. She was born December 13, 1916 at rural Burr and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s UCC (Osage) of Cook and was a long-time member of Hope Lutheran Church of Burr. She graduated from Burr High School, married Arthur Moss on September 18, 1940 at Syracuse and they made their home on the farm. They moved into Burr in 1975. She enjoyed crosswords, playing Scrabble and gardening.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Moss and special friend, Linda Truscott and Randall Moss and wife Denise all of Sterling; six grandchildren, Colleen Carpenter and husband Greg, William Moss and wife Jennifer, John Moss and wife Mycala, Jeremy Moss and wife Angie, Justin Moss and special friend Michelle Ullman and Sean Moss and wife Ashley; 14 great-grandchildren, Raeanna, Alex, Ally, Mason, Hailey, Wyatt, Miles, Katie, Taylor, Ryan, Zach, Emmy, Avery and Tomi; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hilka Blankmann Klaasmeyer; her husband Arthur, who died November 28, 2007; one son, Lyle William Moss; four brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church of Burr with Pastor Jim Helgren officiating.

Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery of Sterling.

A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. at the church on Saturday. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and at the church one hour preceding the services at the church. The family will meet and greet friends on Friday from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net.
