Carol Sue Bridges, 72, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:50 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Carol had been a clerical aide for the District #300 Schools for twenty-six years. She was affiliated with the Mulkeytown Christian Church. Carol was a member of TOPS Club.
She was born December 26, 1944 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Faye “Jack” and Unice (Naylor) Jones. She married Robert G. Bridges on April 27, 1962 at the Du Quoin City Lake and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin; two sons, Glenn Bridges and wife, Mary, and Robbie Bridges and wife, Amy, all of Du Quoin; one sister, Peggy Cralli of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, Jessica Brooks and husband, Nick, Jeremy Grab and wife, Tiffany, Erica Harris and husband, Keith, Amy Lay and husband, Luke, Kalin Bridges and Jenny Sarenson, and Zeke Fourez; five great-grandchildren, Carli Harris, Ethan Harris, Bailey Brooks, Carter Brooks and Hailey Grab.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Kurt Jensen and Bro. Jerry Aken officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
