Richard M. “Colonel” Boose age 81, of Wharton died Tues. Jan. 31, 2017 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky. On February 20, 1935 he was born to the late Cletus M. and Golda B. (Corbin) Boose. He married Hilda L. Stewart on May 15, 1958, she resides near Wharton. Surviving are his children Randy E. (June) Boose, Forest, Vicky (Todd) Brand, Wharton, Ronald E. Boose, Upper Sandusky, Rodney L. (Kim Collins) Boose, Vanlue, Roger W. Boose, CA, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother Frederick G. Boose, IN. He was preceded in death by a brother Cletus Boose Jr.

Mr. Boose graduated from Wharton High School in 1953, and then served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber, Findlay after 37 years of employment. Mr. Boose was a member of Wharton First Church of God, Wharton. He was a member of Union Local #207, Findlay.

A funeral service will be held Sat. Feb. 4, 2017 at 10:30AM in Clark Shields Funeral Home with Dr. Richard VanHorn and Wes Shrider officiating. Interment will follow in Wharton Richland Union Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held Fri. Feb. 3, 2017 from 2-8:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wharton Church of God, Hospice of Wyandot County, Flag City Honor Flight, or American Diabetes Association in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
