Ruby was born June 27, 1933, to the late Russell E. Murphy and Mary N. Kemp. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sleepy Creek, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin and Elmer Murphy of Aliquippa, PA. and Gilbert Murphy, of Sleepy Creek, WV; and one sister, Geraldine Matysek of Baltimore, MD.
Ruby is survived by a daughter, Lisa, and husband, Steve Brindle of Charlotte, NC, with whom she resided until her illness; a son, Mark E. Murphy, and wife Pam, of Cleveland, TN; granddaughter, Amy Bentz, of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Matthew R. Murphy of New York, NY and Aaron T. Murphy of Montreal, Canada; great-grandchildren, Alyson, Christopher and Emily Bentz of Charlotte, NC, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is being planned for a future date.
