Mr. John Juarez

Mr. Juan Juarez, 86, of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on January 15, 2007. Mr. Juarez was born on October 19, 1920 to Eduardo Juarez and Guadalupe Rodriguez who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were brothers Cipriano, Roman and Timoteo Juarez, Sr.

Mr. Juarez served his country in World War II as a Telephone & Telegraph Linesman with the 34th Signal Construction Battalion. Mr. Juarez served in military campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received commendations and medallions for the following campaigns: the American Theater Campaign, European-African Campaign with Five Bronze Stars, the Asiatic - Pacific Campaign, the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Ribbon with One Service Stripe and Three Overseas Service Bars. Mr. Juarez was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he served as an usher for the Spanish Mass.

He is survived by brothers Meliton Juarez, Sr. and Alcario Juarez of Lockhart, and sisters, Romalda Rodriguez of Lockhart and Eleanor Juarez of Houston, including several nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary, Friday, January 19th 8:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 20th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, interment following at St. Mary's Cemetery.
