He was born, August 17, 1932 in New Orleans, LA to the late James and Ethel Goebel Bagley and on August 19, 1952 he married Lucy Hawkins at St. John Lutheran Church in New Orleans. They were devoted to one another and enjoyed many blessings in their 63 years of marriage before her passing in March of 2016.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucy and son Patrick Michael Bagley.
James was a graduate of L.S.U. and had a long career with Shell Oil Co. In his retirement he enjoyed cooking, reading, quiet moments with Lucy and his family. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Louisiana Hospice in Covington for their loving care and support.
A celebration of his life will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 2480 Hwy 190 East, Mandeville, LA on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will be private in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA.
