Eleanor Rowena Bowen was born on May 20, 1933 to June (Craddock) Campbell and Jim Campbell. She died on January 27, 2017 at Shanoan Springs Nursing Facility in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Rowena married her true love and mate, Andy Leon Bowen, on July 30, 1948 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Both she and Andy were members of the First Baptist Church in Ninnekah.

Rowena took care of her home and raised her children and had also been a payroll clerk in the state of Washington for a time. She was also a member of the Choctaw Nation.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Andy, and an infant son, Levi Bowen.

Rowena is survived by her five children; Lonnell Bowen Newcum and husband, Richard, of Anthem, Arizona; Allen Bowen of Riverside, California; Andrea Bowen Gecho and husband, Joe, of Anthem, Arizona; Sherry Bowen Nygaard and husband, Eldon, of Viborg, South Dakota; and Andy Mark Bowen and wife, Carolyn, of Chickasha; sister, Helen Elenora Wilcox, of Sun City, California; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating. Interment in Friendship Cemetery near Pocasset, Oklahoma will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
