Mrs. Minnie Cowart Hammett, 51. died Friday at 9 a.m. at a local Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Hammett lived at 6-D Mountain View Homes and been a resident of Greenville most of her life. She was engaged in textile work. Born and reared in Franklin County, N.C., She was a daughter of the late John and Leila McClure Cowart. Surviving are her husband Homer Hammett; one son, Donnie Hammett of Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Janie Masters of Easley and Mrs. Stella Chambers and Mrs. Zoie Bolding of Greenville. one brother, William Cowart of Greenville. Funeral plans will be announced by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
