Andrew C. Christensen, 90 of Veblen, SD passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Wheatcrest Hills Nursing Home in Britton, SD.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Veblen, SD, with Pastor Harold Watrous officiating and burial was in the Veblen Cemetery.

Pallbearers were his nephews Pat Marlow, Tom Marlow, Ray Christensen, Ron Hinnenkamp, Dave Hinnenkamp, Roger Olson, Stan Olson, Randy Olson and Charles Olson.

Andrew Christensen was born on September 6, 1916 at rural Veblen, SD, the son of Carl & Johanna (Christensen) Christensen. He grew up on the farm and attended country school. Andrew attended C.C. Camp at Columbia, SD for a while, then returned to the farm .

On September 22, 1948 he was united in marriage to Gladys Norby at Veblen, SD. After their marriage they lived on the home farm, farming and raising cattle, until retiring and moving into Veblen in 1998. Andrew enjoyed playing his accordion in two different bands for about 10 years. He never had a lesson, and played by ear. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Veblen.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Gladys Christensen of Veblen, SD; two sons, Neil (Linda) Christensen of Veblen, SD, and Curtis Christensen of Veblen, SD; a daughter, Janelle (David) Vig of Veblen, SD; a brother, Melvin (Peggy) Christensen of Minneapolis, MN; a sister, Caroline (Arnold) Olson of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Andy, Candice and Ross Vig, and Cos Amdahl.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; Raymond; and a sister, Edna.

Frank Family Funeral Home of Lidgerwood, ND was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
