Rush Springs: Pat Shipman, 77 years, 10 months, and 12 days, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Marlow.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, with Rev. Michael Nunn and Rev. Paul Phipps officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Rush Springs.Pat was born Tuesday, March 17, 1939 in Oklahoma City to Morris S. and Juanita (Edwards) Shipman Sr. He graduated from the US Grant class of 1957. He married his loving wife, Bernice Largent on August 28, 1960 in Del City. Pat worked for Harris packing as a meat cutter and quality control for over 28 years. The couple lived in OKC but relocated to Rush Springs in 1987. Pat was a member of the Capital Hill Jaycee,he was also a Jaycee I Senator,and was also a member of the Capital Hill Riding Club, He loved spending time with his girls on the softball field, he also enjoyed fishing, finding a great garage sale, and watching westerns and the Game Show Channel. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Rush Springs.Survivors include, wife, Bernice Shipman of Rush Springs; daughter, Zanna Shipman of Rush Springs; grandsons, Nathan Hoard of Duncan, Jon Ray Gifford of Marlow, Adam Hardin of Broken Arrow and Ryan Gifford of SC; great-grandson, Joshua Gifford and Great Grand-daughter Jerney Hardin. He is also survived by a sister, Delma Staples and husband Jack of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Ginny Scurlock and husband Joe of Moore; brother-in-laws, Don Largent and Paul Whybark.He was preceded in death by daughters, Michaellann Shipman Mullins and Donna Hardin; son-in-law, Carl Mullins; brothers, Tiny Shipman, Morris Shipman, Jr. and Robert Bob Shipman, sister-in-law, Joan Shipman Corter; father-in-law, H.G. Largent; mother-in-law, Estelle Largent; and in-laws, Nevlin Whybark and Darrin Whybark.Pallbearers will be: Travis Whybark, Daniel Whybark, Nathan Hoard, Adam Hardin, Paul Lacobon II, Ed Shipman, and Broyn Robnett.Honorary Pallbearers will be: James Pumpkin Pendley, John Rutledge, John Purser, Class of 1957, and SBC Sunday School Class Adult 3.Family visitation will be held, Friday February 3 2017, from 5-7pm at the Funeral Home.
