Sheila Ann Dickson, 57, of Henryville, IN, passed away at 12:42 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY.
Born February 6, 1959 in Clark County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Harold Heil and Sue Heil, who survives in Henryville, IN.
Shelia was a teacher at Henryville & Silver Creek Elementary Schools for 14 years where she taught 3rd, 5th and 6th grade. She attended Memphis Community Church, enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and was an avid runner. Sheila was a 1977 Henryville High School Graduate, then furthered her education at IUS, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She earned her Masters Degree in education at IUS. She had a passion for children, traveling with an organization called People to People, helping teachers and students.
On May 25, 1979 at Mount Moriah Church she married Perry Daniel Dickson who survives in Henryville, IN.
Other survivors include 2 daughters, Sherry (Jody) Speaks & Abby (Matt) Ramsey, 8 grandchildren, Finn, Elliot, Celia, & Wilson Speaks, Oliver, Madelynn, Caroline & Hollis Ramsey, 3 siblings, Brenda (John) McDermitt, Sally (Shawn) Valentine & Steve (Cindy) Heil, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a her father, grandparents, Earl & Stella Heil and Lloyd & Martha Porter.
