Richard E. Lindsay, 87, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

Services will be Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Southern Baptist Church of Neodesha, Kansas with Pastor Dallas Martin officiating. Burial will follow service at the Neodesha Cemetery in Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation will be at Loran Fawcett Chapel Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Richard E. Lindsay was born May 28, 1929 in Thayer, Kansas to Morris and Valta (Lowery) Lindsay. Richard attended school at rural Plainville and attended Neodesha High School. On July 28, 1949 Richard was united to Shirley D. (Adams) in Fredonia, Kansas. They made their home in Grand Junction, Colorado for 20 years before moving back to Neodesha where Richard has lived the last 30 years.

Richard was most satisfied in life of his brick laying, he took pride in every project he'd done.

Richard loved hunting, fishing and walking the mountain trails of Colorado. He loved to read and loved poetry, but most of all he was proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them and his loving family.

Richard is survived by four sons; Richard E. Lindsay Jr. of Grand Junction, Colorado, Michael A. Lindsay of Neodesha, Kansas, George T. Lindsay of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Stephen D. Lindsay and his wife, Danielle, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and three daughters, Carol Cartwright of Neodesha, Kansas, Delores E. Fowler and her husband, Steven, of Cherryvale, Kansas, Rebecca L. Garrison and her husband, Bobby Dale, of Grand Junction, Colorado; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Shirley D. Adams Lindsay.
