Willa Lucille “Billie” Parker, 79, of Laurie, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 in her home. She was born August 7, 1937 in Sedalia, Missouri, a daughter of William Howard and Dorsey Willis (Shackelford) Phillips.
On February 25, 1955 in Sedalia, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Roy G. Parker. He preceded her in death in March of 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a long-time companion, Fred Blaser and a sister, Evelyn Jackson. Survivors include her children, Cathy Wright of Osage Beach, Missouri, Robert G. Parker of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Vickie Parker and husband Peter Shaughnessy of Olympia, Washington and Cindy L. Stone of Laurie, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard J. Phillips of Waltham, Massachusetts; a sister, Wanda J. Smith of Otterville, Missouri and other relatives and friends. Billie was a homemaker and active in recovery programs. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She loved flower gardening and enjoyed hummingbirds and butterflies.She was a founding member of the Laurie Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Garber Memorial Estates, Laurie, Missouri. No visitation will be held.
