Staff Sergeant, US Army retired, Charles Edward Dooley was born on February 8, 1940 in Bedford, Bedford County, Virginia, the son of Grace "Viola" (Burnett) (Dooley) (Poe) Robinson (1915–2002) and her 1st husband Fred Jackson Dooley (1912–1978). {Viola was later married in 1982 to Walter Lee Poe, and she was married later still to -- Robinson.}
Charles was married to Peggy Asher and was a U S Army who served during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Living in Cumberland Furnace, Dickson County, Tennessee, he was 76 years old when he passed away at home on January 29, 2017.
Preceded in death by his parents, he was survived by his widow, four married sons, a married daughter, two brothers, a sister, fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services with full Military Honors were in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
