Donald Wilson Stockton, 100, of Lima, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Shawnee Manor.

He was born on September 19, 1916 in Auglaize County, Ohio to the late Charles L. and Hazel (Kerr) Stockton. On June 19, 1938 Donald married Inez Croft and then on November 13, 1965 he married Betty Stephens. They both preceded him in death.

Donald is survived by his sons Lee (Shirley) Stockton and Larry (Kandy) Stockton, and his grandchildren Adam and Michelle. Donald was also preceded in death by his brother Karl Stockton in 2011 and his sister-in-law Vera Stockton in 2006.

Donald was a 1934 graduate of Shawnee High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and in the Pacific Theater and was part of the Occupational Troops in South Korea. He was a milk delivery man for Beatrice Foods/ Meadow Gold Dairy. He was an avid baseball fan, liking both the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians. This past September 19th, TV announcers for a Cincinnati Reds game, recognized his 100th birthday. He was a fisherman and an outdoorsman and spent many enjoyable winters in Florida after retiring. He was the favorite Uncle Donald or Uncle Don to many family and extended family members.

His family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 1-2PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 2PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Westminster, Ohio.
