Glen R. Thomas Sr, 75, of Delavan, passed away at 10:21 am Monday, January 30, 2017 at his home. He was born October 1, 1941 in Versailles to Ivan W. and Viola F. Prunty Thomas. He married Ingrid of Lish, Germany on July 20, 1961 in Jacksonville, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Glen R. "Bob" (Rhonda) Thomas Jr. of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Monika (Donnie) Severns of Mason City; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Nora (Donald) Smith of Temple TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Thomas.

Glen was an engineer for Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 17 years and owned and operated Thomas Construction in Versailles for many years.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading his Bible.

His funeral will be at 11:30 am Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Delavan Baptist Church. Jeffrey Vogelzang and Greg Willert will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:15 am Thursday, also at the church. Burial will be in Hersman Cemetery in Hersman, IL at 4pm Thursday. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
