DORR---George H. Deskins, 87 of Dorr, WV passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 21, 2016 at the Brier Nursing Home in Fairlea following a long illness. He was born at Hillsdale, WV, March 31, 1929 a son of the late James Harvey and Gladys Faye Dunbar Deskins. Mr. Deskins was a retired carpenter at the Greenbrier Hotel with 27 years service, a member of the Hillsdale Holiness Church, the Carpenters Union and he was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Ruth Deskins; 3 brothers, James Ray Deskins, Walter M. Deskins and Bernie Deskins; 1 Sister, Violet Deskins. Surviving is his wife, Freda Honaker Deskins of Dorr; 4 children, Donna A. Deskins of Frankford, George David Deskins and wife, Deborah of Hillsdale, Darrell H. Deskins and wife, Angie of Sinks Grove, Denise R. Deskins of Ronceverte; a brother, Russell Deskins and wife, Barbara of Sinks Grove, 2 sisters, Lucinda Baxter of Ronceverte and Margery Pence of Sinks Grove; 10 grandchildren, Dallas and Dustin Bragg, Whitney Hylton and husband, Dalton, D. J. and Joshua Deskins, Micah Deskins and wife, Lauren, Leah Beth Deskins, Mattison, McKinley and Montana Morgan; 6 Great Grandchildren; Kane, Amaya, Liliana and Jonah Bragg, Rylea and Remingon Hylton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Hillsdale Holiness Church at Hillsdale with Rev. David Deskins, Errol Morgan and D. J. Deskins officiating. Burial will follow in the New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV.
