Ada Matney Blankenship, Age 89 of Hurley, Virginia went to be with the
Lord Tuesday, January 3, 2017 leaving her husband of 71 years John H.
Blankenship.
Born August 22, 1927 in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of
the late Wiley and Westine Branham Matney. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter
Penny Sue Blankenship, one son Franky Ray Blankenship, nine brothers
Chaney, Charlie, Steward, Arnold, Henry, Wiley, Dewey, Branson, Adam
Matney, and Harless Matney, three sisters, Deannie Vanover, Margaret Blankenship, and Nadine Matney.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE:

Delbert Blankenship and wife Geraldine of Bassett, Virginia
Thurman Blankenship and wife Tavie of Bassett, Virginia

Ada is also survived by 16 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren,
and 17 Great Great Grandchildren, 44 nieces and nephews and a
host of Friends to mourn her loss. Ada was a loving and faithful
Christian for 63 years. Mom has won her crown of glory.
Funeral services for Ada Matney Blankenship will be held on Saturday,
January 7, 2017 9:30 AM at the Pine Grove Old Regular Baptist Church
at Hurley with Elders Larry Gibson, Arthur Short, Danny McCoy, Danny Hurley, and Zeb Justice officiating, with burial to follow in the Justus Family Cemetery on Guesses Fork at Hurley, Virginia. All other elders of the old Regular Baptist are welcome.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the church at 6PM
with a service held both Thursday and Friday evening at 7 PM.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
