Landon Cheek Davis Jr. (L.C.) passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the age of 86.

L.C. was born in rural North Carolina where he learned to hunt and fish on the family farms. After graduating from North Carolina State University, L.C. served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot in the Korean War. Always enjoying the challenge of negotiating a good deal, he spent the majority of his life in real estate sales, working as a self-employed real estate broker and businessman in the Fredericksburg area for the last 35 years.

L.C. is survived by his wife, Jean Kern Davis; his sons, Landon Cheek Davis III (C.J.) and Michael Landon Davis; his daughter, Ellen Roberta Davis; his sister, Bettie Jean Davis; his grandson and his wife, Landon and Meredith Davis; his great-grandson, William Landon Davis; his daughters-in-law, Amanda Blair Davis and Susan Navy Davis; and Fudge, his beloved chocolate lab.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 31 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 1 at Trinity Episcopal Church on College Avenue.
