Jackie McFadden
June 11, 1941 - January 27, 2017
Jackie,75, was born June 11, 1941 to Nathan and Cecilia (Sis) Turpin in Blackfoot, Idaho. She passed away January 27, 2017 from an accident in Parker, Arizona.
Jackie was the little sister to Bodell, Bobbie and DeeVan. The family moved to Aberdeen where she went to school. She graduated from Aberdeen High School where she was active in Cheerleading, 4H, and band. She then moved over to Pocatello where she attended Idaho State College. Jackie loved being independent and was named the 196…. Snow queen. She was active in Gamma phi Beta and that was a very important part of her life. She graduated from Idaho State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education.
Jackie met Darrell Bullock while serving in the cafeteria at Idaho State. She thought he was the most handsome man alive and knew immediately he was the man she would marry. Jackie and Darrell were married February 9, 1962. Together they had three girls, Gina, Amy and Mandi. They spent most of their marriage buying and renovating houses. They divorced June 1976.
She got her first teaching job in Rockland, Idaho. She spent the majority of her career at Highland High School and in fact taught the first all-boys Home Ec class. She was loved by all of her students and until the end every time she met an old student they told her how much of an impact she had on them. Jackie was the Advisor of Future Homemakers of America while at Highland.
In 1977 she met Richard McFadden. They were married in May 1980. This brought her 5 step children. Jaylene, Rick, Alan, Kristen and Tara. They lived happily for 32 years until Richards death in 2012.
Jackie loved the outdoors and Richard and her spent their summers camping. After their retirement, they enjoyed their time at Seagull Bay. They spent many hours on their 4-Wheeler and talking around the campfire. After Richards death, Jackie bought her a side by side and didn't hesitate to continue riding with the Seagull Bay crew and her daughter Amy and grandkids. She was fearless and so afraid to be left behind that no mountain was ever too high. With her dogs in the seat next to her she always amazed people with how well she kept up.
For 13 years Jackie volunteered at the Portneuf Medical Center gift shop. She knitted hundreds of baby hats for the newborns at the hospital. She was proud to send the babies home in one of her hats. She also got the opportunity to pick out the New Year's baby gifts for 2017. She loved visiting with staff and patients and always brought home beautiful treasures. She so appreciated the friendships she made there.
Jackie is survived by her daughters Gina, Amy, and Mandi (John)and her step children Jaylene (Mike), Rick, Alan (Heather), Kristen and Tara. Also, her grandkids David, Nikki, Amber (Keith), SaDee, Damian, Tucker, Tanner, Justin, Austin, Michael and Jessie and one great granddaughter BrynLee. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother DeeVan, husbands Darrell and Richard and grandson Dakota.
