John David Heide, 67, died at 9 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2000, in Lafayette Home Hospital. Born Dec. 25, 1932, in Lafayette, he graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Purdue and Indiana universities. On March 9, 1958, he married R. Joan Spurgeon at Frankfort; she survives.
Mr. Heide was a lifelong Lafayette resident. For 50 years, he was a carpenter with Carpenters Local 215. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. He also was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean War.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Michael (& Diane) Heide, J. Aric (& Ina) Heide, and Kurt J. (& Rose) Heide, all of Lafayette; his mother, Virginia L. Heide also of Lafayette; two brothers, Richard T. Heide and Ronald J. Heide, both of Lafayette; two sisters, Janice Heide of Lafayette and Jane Eberle of Manhattan, KS; and ten grandchildren.
